Even though you may have missed your chance to experience Arizona Foodie’s upcoming pop-up demo with Chef Gio Osso, you’re still in luck because you can have a similar menu this Valentine’s Day! Chef Gio Osso’s Valentine’s Day dinner will include heaps of chocolate giving unique character to both sweet and savory dishes spanning Chef Osso’s romantic dinner menu at his award-winning restaurant, Virtu.
“We’ve aimed to create a one-of-a-kind experience here in Arizona, and an amorous one at that,” said the chef. “Chocolate is my absolute favorite thing in the world, and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.”
Adding chocolate to savory foods might seem provocative to some, but Osso delicately – and at times, decadently – features the addictive aphrodisiac in dishes like seared scallops with saffron parsnip silk, sherry lardons, crispy brussel petals, and marcona and white chocolate. Also on the menu you’ll find CHARRED OCTOPUS | spiced ceci, bittersweet chocolate brown butter, hazelnut, oro blanco grapefruit and POT DE CRÈME | dark chocolate custard, chile amarena cherry, pomegranate pistachio bark
The delightfully indulgent menu begins with a champagne toast and amuse bouche of chocolate bites followed by the three-course dinner. After dessert, chocolate and sea salt-covered strawberries serve as mignardises to seal the deal.
