Arizona Foodie Pop-Up Demo Featuring the original Homeboy Jacob Cutino of Homeboys Hot Sauce is coming up on March 19th. Jacob will be showing us some fire and spice and preparing an amazing meal for you on the grill outside. You’ll enjoy a hearty meal and let’s not forget the refreshing drinks and a course on how to use your Homeboys Hot Sauce in the kitchen. Even if you’re not a fan of hot sauce, don’t worry, this is all about how to use the hot sauce to build on the flavors in the dish. For instance, he recently did a brunch which included brioche french toast using a hot sauce maple syrup whip cream and a pork belly benedict using hot sauce in the hollandaise sauce. Jacob’s hot sauce is used in kitchens around town as a base in so many dishes, so join us at the next pop-up demo and see what all the buzz is about!
Jacob went from Chef, to the creator of Homeboys Hot Sauce back in March 2015. He once worked in restaurants like Bootleggers and Fox Concepts but left his restaurant days back in 2014. By 2015 he had done his due diligence and created a product he was proud of and ready to share with the world. To his happy surprise, the hot sauce was welcomed with open arms in the community and started to pop-up all over town inside restaurants and markets. You can now find his beautiful little bottles behind the kitchen counters of restaurants like FNB, Desoto Central Market, The Gladly and so many more. He even made a special mixture just for Okra. You can also find his sauces at the local farmer’s markets and on the shelves or places like Luci’s.
What to expect at one of Arizona Foodie’s pop-ups?
You’ll be greeted by Diana and the Chef and while we wait for everyone to arrive, you’ll enjoy appetizers and drinks. After mingling, we’ll be seated at the kitchen to watch the Chef begin cooking up the meal. As all the amazing smells fill your nostrils and tempt your belly, he’ll share his stories and his secrets on how to create an amazing meal with seafood. We encourage you to get up and help the Chef out with different tasks and stand next to him to see what he’s doing. This part of the event lasts about an hour to an hour and a half (it flies by!)
After the demo is finished and all your questions have been answered, we will move to the dining room to sample the dishes prepared in class. The last event sold out in the first day and there are only 20 spots available for the dinner. Tickets are $65 and are non-refundable. Food to be served after class will be prepared in a kitchen that is not regulated or inspected by the Arizona Department of Health Services or by the Maricopa County Environmental Services Department. Because of the nature of the event, we cannot accommodate allergies or other dietary restrictions, sorry!
