I’m not sure that is even possible to do, at least not in a week but I sure did eat non stop. I can’t even write it all down, there is just too much to tell and I feel like it would be more fun to tell it through pictures. I will give you my advice, when eating your way through NYC be sure to follow Bon Appetite on Instagram and go to the places they go, I was not disappointed.
First night there and we headed down to the packed Ilili Restaurant for some mouth watering Lebanese food. The bone marrow was top notch and the duck schwarma, I wish I had some right now. Don’t even get me started on the desserts we had here, I got sick that night from eating too much because I couldn’t stop.
A friend took us to BLT Prime and our favorite item was the complimentary popovers but the quail wasn’t too bad either.
With so many places to grab coffee in NYC, my heart fell for Cafe Grumpy and I went there almost every morning. There cappuccino was so smooth, I’ll miss you for sure my grump face.
Authentic Thai cuisine coming right up at Larb Ubol, you must order the crispy pork, so dang good.Have you ever tried a hand rolled, wood fired bagel. Stand in line for about 30 mins and you can eat one of these fantastic suckers at Black Seed Bagels. Totally worth the wait and we understand why they sell out every single day. We were in NYC on Cinco De Mayo so you know we had to check out one of the hot places to be Sinigual. We were lucky to grab a space at the bar with our friends, since they were no longer accepting reservations for lunch! Talk about a party but I understand why, those steak tacos hit the spot. I can’t help myself, really I couldn’t and I didn’t want to. Maybe it’s weird that I get all giddy around chefs but I love food, I’ve watched these people for years, they are so inspirational to me. Not just Bobby Flay or Ina Garten but people like Biagio (pictured below) or David Funaro (Godiva) and Jean-Marie Auboine the list goes on and on. So I’m not embarrassed to say that when I saw Bobby Flay in the kitchen at Gato, my heart started racing and I hoped I would get to meet him. He was gracious enough to introduce himself and the whole experience that night made my trip!Pictured above is the octopus tentacle from Gato. We also feasted on duck livers, rabbit, white anchovies, artichoke with quail egg and uni and the list goes on. Satisfying to say the least.
And if you’re going to check out Bobby Flay, then you should probably check out who beat him on Throwdown in the cannoli category. That would be my friend Biagio, owner of Pasticceria Bruno. We filled our bellies here with lunch and finished with cronuts, daffles and cannolis. They we walked another five miles to burn it off. I must stop now before I post way too many photos but if you follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, you saw a multitude of photos from my face feeding trip. Until next time New York!
