If you work downtown, you have a decent amount of options when it comes to grabbing lunch but have you checked out Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails yet? I know you’ve probably been there for drinks and probably dinner but they also offer quite the spread for lunch.
Here’s the low down on the new menu items just added to their lunch menu. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll try out their burger because they’re now grinding their own burger meat which means that you end up with an amazing finished product. The juicy burger has pimento cheese, bacon, pickles, all the fixings stacked up on a pretzel bun, with a side of fries. Also new to the lunch menu is the Mt. Lassen trout and the crispy fried portobello sandwich, both of which we’ll check out next time. My date opted for the new seared Ahi salad, a great option for those looking to get a fresh and light lunch (as opposed to my hefty burger, that may have a few extra calories than a salad). The Ahi is seared to perfection and full of fresh flavor and the peppers add a touch of spice. It would be silly of me to not order some of the menu appetizer favorites and my date hadn’t experienced the deviled eggs yet. So, as you may have noticed from the top picture, we ordered the deviled eggs with bacon jam and dijon (I think they keep getting better each time I order!) and the roasted cauliflower with chili, cilantro and lime. To finish out an already amazing and filling meal, we went for the pineapple upside down cake. Again, I am no stranger to this dessert but when something works, why try something different. It’s the perfect combination of fluffy cake and sweet pineapple, surrounded by hot caramel and topped with a melting scoop of ice cream. We left no bites for the trash can, that plate was cleaned!
Another successful meal and the perfect reason to head out of the office or home during lunch. Chef Sean will not disappoint you, until next time foodies, head down to City Scape and tell them AZFoodie sent you!
