Happy anniversary Buck & Rider! On the 20th, they’ll celebrate one year in business and what booming business it has been. Taking over the SW corner of 44th St and Camelback, this seafood slinging restaurant is giving you a reason to head on over there. On the 20th, you’ll be able to enjoy an oyster happy hour all.day.long! That means from 11am to close, if you sit in Abby’s Oyster Bar, the dining room, or patio, at Buck & Rider, you get half off the selection of all raw oysters flown in from the East and West coasts daily and served with your choice of cocktail sauce, mignonette, cognac mustard sauce, Thai dipping sauce or horseradish. Experience spectacular views of Camelback Mountain from the patio while enjoying a selection of fresh oysters expertly curated by the chefs.
Enjoy $6 signature cocktails, house pours, and featured glasses of wine and draft beer during Happy Hour from 11 am to 7 pm weekdays. Reverse Happy Hour from 9:30 pm to close Thursday – Saturday. Might we suggest sipping on the One Night in Babylon which features Opihr spiced gin, cucumber and za’atar, while you fill your belly with oysters and sushi? The Crab & Macadamia with fresh Jonah crab, asparagus, Fresno chilies and a shiso remoulade were on happy hour special the night we went. We also opted for the Baked Yuzu Crab Roll with fresh Jonah crab, avocado, topped with spicy tuna and Serrano chilies, which wasn’t on the happy hour menu but we had to try.
Also not on the happy hour menu but I am unable to resist ordering each time are the Lobster Roll “Nik Niks” brimming with cold water lobster on housemade parker rolls served with French fries. There truly is something magical about that small buttery roll filled with fresh lobster, can I substitute some more “Nik Niks” for the fries? I’m never one to turn down crab cakes either these fresh Blue Crab Cakes with pommery mustard sauce, chipotle spice, shaved asparagus and radish salad, stood solid on their own. There’s a reason Buck & Rider is packed every time you drive by and if you haven’t figured out why yet, you need to head in and give it a taste.
