We walked into the little Crepe Bar joint, not really knowing what to expect, only that we love crepes and good coffee. We spotted the menu and I immediately hoped to try the Grand Prix, a coffee crepe with pork belly and maple glazed pork jowl, topped with an egg. I mean, come on, does that not sound inviting to your taste buds or what! I was correct, this crepe must be amazing because to my sad surprise, they were sold out.
I settled on the Duck Cuban instead, ham, jalapeno fondue and candied mustard seeds. I also ordered a Cappuccino and the hubs had a black coffee. The coffee was nice and smooth and the beans come from Heart Coffee Roasters of Oregon. We were given some granola with our coffees, which was gobbled down quickly. It was a sugary, crunchy treat, perfect to curb our appetites, while we waited.
Our crepe came out quickly and it was piled high and presented beautifully. Doesn’t it seem like when something is brought out looking so gorgeous that it tastes better. It feeds all the senses! I loved the textures and flavors of all the elements, personally, I truly enjoyed the fondue. It was delicious and I can’t wait to come back to try some more, especially the sweet ones. With choices like maple butter and pick me up, how can you resist?! (The only reason I did was because I’ve indulged a little too much this birthday week already). The service was wonderful and very attentive. I’ll be back Crepe Bar and you best have some Grand Prix and a Pick Me Up available.
