Thank you to the creative mind behind the 7 Chef Pig Out. This is the kind of event that I love to go to and I will continue to go to over and over again. It was the perfect excuse to go out on a Sunday afternoon and be surrounded by other people that enjoy food just as much as I do. It was fun, it was fresh, it was a hog wild good time.
If you didn’t make it to The Gladly (it was sold out) for $25 a person we got to indulge in all kinds of pig parts from 7 amazing chefs around town. It would be hard for me to pick just one or two favorite dishes because each one was unique and enjoyable in it’s own way. Each Chef did a phenomenal job of showcasing the certified awesome pork from Tender Belly. Here’s the menu of what we feasted on:
Chef Stephen Jones: Charcuterie Spread: blood sausage, lardo, pork neck terrine, pickled pigs feed, pork cheek rilletes.
Chef Bernie Kantak: Pork chilaquiles. Noble break with Mangalista lardo & fig jam. Greens & grits with smoked pork shank. Bacon on squishy hotdog bun. Bacon fat popcorn. Thanks to the Chefs for putting me into a happy coma, I can’t wait to do again it again….soon I hope!
