It’s getting hot out and the best cure for that, other than heading to the beach, is heading somewhere to get a cool treat!
Here’s just a few of the many that I love and a couple that you guys suggested:
Sweet Republic is a favorite in our house. With toddler K having a dairy allergy, they always have a great selection of dairy free flavors. I always seem to get the butter pecan but when I want to get crazy, I’ll take down that Toffee banofi sundae.
Churn usually has a line out the door, which should tell you that they are loved by many, including me. Those ice cream cookie sandwiches and those lil’ freezies….oh my!
Rita’s Italian Ice is a great option for something light, refreshing and cold. I tend to stick with the Italian ice but you can get this refreshing treat in a multitude of ways: cream ice, gelati, frozen custard, blendini and so much more.
Nami, the great creator of the tsoynami and you don’t have to be allergic to milk to enjoy it (which was one of the reasons we headed over here the first time). Now I can’t get enough of their huge portions of tsoynami with vanilla and crammed with giant chunks of vegan cookie dough. They have a bunch of other fun options to get and you’ll be satisfied.
Frost Gelato was one of the places you suggested I check out and being pretty close to my house, I headed over there for dessert. Their gelato flavors are endless and it was hard to decide on which to try but the gianduja won out, it’s an amazing hazelnut chocolate flavor that is similar to Nutella but I actually prefer it.
Snoh Ice Shavery was another location you all suggested to try and I fell in love at first bite. The combination above is not to be strayed from in my books. Taro ice, strawberries, almond cookies and covered in condensed milk. The flavors and texture will blow your mind and keep you coming back for more.
I may not have time to hit all the spots as of right now but these are a few that you mentioned as favorites and I’ll be checking out soon.
A few of your favorite picks:
Melt is a new comer to the scene and already quite popular in the downtown area. Their treats are from Udder delights in Gilbert and with flavors likes fruity pebbles and strawberry lemonade sorbet, we understand the obsession.
Udder Delights – mentioned above, is located in Gilbert for any of you down in that area. You’ll find the same great flavors and more at this location.
Scooptacular is located in Laveen and is super premium ice cream mixed into flavors like Laveen concrete mix, oatmeal cookie, salted caramel and grasshopper.
Thrifty Ice Cream was named by many of you as an old time favorite and we appreciate this classic too.
Stay cool out there foodie friends and keep me apprised of all those favorite ice cream shops not listed.
