Pizza, pizza! I love making my own pizza at home, sometimes more than I enjoy ordering it. In fact, I rarely order pizza out, only when I’m craving Pizza Heaven’s vegan cheese pizza with lots of meat on it. Otherwise, making your own pizza is so simple to do and it always seems to taste so much better.
I grabbed a few local products from Whole Foods Market up at PV and voila, dinner was served. They have a couple different pizza doughs that you can buy, I usually get the regular dough but they were all out so I used the whole wheat and they also have a stout one. I’m one of “those” people that never likes tomato sauce on their pizza. I’ll eat it if it’s made that way but I won’t order it like that and I won’t make it like that either. This one has a delicious epicurean spread with caramelized red onion fig. It’s a little sweet and it has a nice balsamic flavor to it as well. Normally I add onions to my pizza but I don’t need to with this tapenade.
I used a light layer of goat cheese from Black Mesa Ranch. I love the creaminess that goat cheese gives to a meal and the overall flavor. I’ve always been a huge fan of goat cheese, if you haven’t tried it out, give it a shot. Last but not least, to add some color and a lot of goodness, I grabbed up some tomatoes from Abby Lee Farms and all of these are available at Whole Foods Market. Support those local providers and have pizza for dinner!
And that my friends is your foodie inspiration for the week! Enjoy 🙂
