Happy New Year! I had the best idea for a New Year’s post. I was going to do a short video that included some of my New Year’s goals and those of my writers. However, I ended up catching death a couple days before the New Year, with symptoms that included swallowing knives, head imploding headaches, loosing my glorious ability to taste or smell, among other things. It progressively got worse and today, or yesterday I ended up with two infected eyes, BAM! Needless to say I was in no shape for going on camera, in fact, I have been hiding in my home and now I go out in disguise. That’s right, I’m that person with the hat on low and the sunglasses on walking around the store, which causes even more attention because people probably think I’m a celebrity trying to hide. No people, I’m just trying to protect you from what’s underneath!
All that aside, I took some time to write down my New Year’s goals. I don’t do resolutions but I do take the time out to set goals for the year and what I want my focus to be about for the year. I don’t look at that piece of paper again until the following year because I forget about it. However, each year I end up accomplishing most of the goals I set. Maybe it’s that whole secret theory, put it out into the universe people and it will come back to you!
Diana: “I want to get back to traveling more this year now that the baby is a little older and making sure to eat a lot when we’re on vacation. I want to have less things and more experiences and I want to start taking my oldest to more cultural things like my parents did for me. Another goal is to create a charity event through Arizona Foodie to continue to help give back but in a bigger way.”
Ali: “I want to try to cooking a new dish monthly and checking out a new restaurant monthly.”
Kelly: “I want to be a bit more organized with everything from work to keeping my house in order. I feel much more at ease when I have planned everything out and everything is done. So this year, that’s at the top of my list.”
Rheana: “Eat more fruits and vegetables!”
Rhea: “Since I’m getting married it’s only fitting that my New Year’s resolution be to stress less and live in the moment more! I also want to perfect my food photography skills.”
Traci: “I want to do one fun active thing a week that I haven’t tried before, like aerial yoga or going to spin class.”
Did you set any goals this year?
