If you haven’t been to The Hash Kitchen Creative Breakfast & Bar, then I suggest you cancel your plans and get there before 3pm today! Upon arrival, expect to experience an innovative breakfast restaurant, featuring a new summer menu that is sure to please all breakfast and brunch enthusiasts. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Owner and Executive Chef Joey Maggiore, who created a new menu for the season, highlighting the current foodie and breakfast trends. The Hash Kitchen is celebrated their one-year anniversary this July, with plans to expand by opening two additional locations before the end of the year. Their new elevated menu includes meat and seafood dishes such as the Leg of Lamb Hash (oven roasted Leg of Lamb, hash potatoes, poached eggs and béarnaise sauce) as well as the Blackened Shrimp & Grits (mascarpone laced creamy polenta, poached eggs and blackened shrimp).
For those of you with a sweet tooth, there is no shortage of options. For instance there is the Breakfast popsicles (fruity pebbles, Greek yogurt, milk and bananas, frozen into a popsicle), my personal favorite, the Cannoli Doughnuts (fried to order sweet dough, sugar and cinnamon topped with cannoli cream- pictured below) or indulge in the Oreo Cookie Pancakes (chocolate and caramel pancakes, layered with Oreo cream, crushed Oreo’s and chocolate sauce).
After we were seated and welcomed with coffee and an order of the cannoli doughnuts, we set our eyes on two major entrees. The Herb Fried Chicken & Waffles and the Carnitas Hash. The chicken and waffles were perfectly savory and sweet, but we only made it through about half when we had to call it quits. Luckily for us, it made an appearance around lunch time, and was just as delicious the second time around.
The Carnitas Hash was packed full of potatoes, corn, perfectly tender pork carnitas, and topped with 2 eggs and a mountain of crispy onions. Avocado and a couple of corn tortillas, this thing was melt in your mouth, crazy good!
And if you can’t brunch without booze, take a stab at their BYOBM. That’s a Build Your Own Bloody Mary bar, my friends. Complete with meatballs and toasted ravioli to garnish it with. What’s not to like? I will definitely be keeping my eye out for future locations, as this will NOT be my last visit to The Hash Kitchen!
The Hash Kitchen is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day of the week and is located at 8777 N. Scottsdale Road
