International Sushi Day is on Saturday, June 18, and with locals craving lighter food options to beat the heat, Roka Akor is launching a “how to roll your own sushi” class summer series, with the first class on International Sushi Day, from 12-2 p.m. For $75 a person, guests will learn how to make their own roll and sample multiple items on the menu with Sushi Chef Kai. From Noon-2 p.m., guests will learn how to make their own roll, drink Japanese beer and mingle, and indulge in Roka Akor’s delicious sushi dishes.
Additional class dates: July 23, August 27
RA Sushi will be holding Sushi and Sake 101 classes in all 27 locations in nine states, sharing the history and culture of sushi while teaching participants how to roll three different sushi rolls.
Participants will also receive a brief history of sake while sampling three different types of sake to compare and contrast flavors and preparation styles. These classes will take place on Sat. June 18th at 11am and are $35 without Sake, $40 with a sake sampling.
Other places to enjoy Sushi but certainly there are many more around town, these are just a few:
I can’t verify this myself but my friend Kathie mentioned that Sushi Ken in Chandler is legit! Can anybody else verify this?
I also recently sent someone over to eat a sushi burrito at Sushi Catcher on the west side, so if you’re over there, check it out too!
Happy Sushi eating.
