Arizona has seen a steady growth in the number of craft breweries opening up in the past several years. In the Greater Phoenix area alone, there are dozens and counting. And as of last week, we can add Two Brothers Tap House & Brewery to the list.
Jim and Jason Ebel founded Two Brothers Brewing Company in late 1996 in Warrenville, IL. The past 18 years has seen tremendous growth for this family owned brewery. With family roots and ties to the Arizona community, they decided to expand and the Two Brothers Tap House & Brewery was officially opened in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale back in January of this year. The brewery installation was completed within the last couple of months and to celebrate, Two Brothers hosted a public brewery launch party where they unveiled two new artisan brews made on-site. I was delighted to attend on behalf of AZFoodie and be among the first to taste the new craft beers. And with a long line outside before the doors were opened, I think others were just as eager.
When you first walk in you can see the massive steel brewing tanks sitting on a platform above the main bar that is adorned with flags from Arizona and Chicago sports teams. The interior is highlighted with exposed brick and ceiling, dark metal railings, wooden fixtures and modern furniture, keeping with the chic industrial look. There is a flight of stairs to the left of the entrance that leads to a private area with a smaller bar, a dining area, and the brand new 10-barrel brewing system encased with glass that overlooks the dining room. I had the pleasure of chatting with one of the architects and contractors for the project and they were incredibly thrilled to walk me through the brewing room. From what I could tell, no detail was spared in this big project.
The launch party was a great opportunity to sample the 12 different Two Brothers artisan craft beers on tap as well as some of the menu items that feature locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. The party was also a fundraiser for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, with one dollar from each full-price beer sale donated to the organization. Here are some of the delicious brews and bites you can find on their every day menu:
