You may have heard that Marigold Maison has taken over the space once occupied by Bombay Spice near Tatum and Cactus. Never fear my friends, Marigold Maison still has many of the same favorites that were once served in the old restaurant but they have expanded the menu to include requests from their guests. We had the pleasure of dining there last week and enjoyed some traditional Indian favorites full of authentic spices and fresh ingredients.
Shown above was one of the items we started with, a dish I had never heard of before but was recommended to us by the waiter. Bhel is listed under the street food section and is not to be skipped, full of lentils, rice puffs, tomato, onion, yogurt, mint and tamarind. This dish will surprise you with its texture and flavors. We also munched on the chicken pakora, chicken dusted with nine spice batter and chickpea flour and then deep fried. Sounds as good as it tasted! For our main course we feasted on an array of traditional dishes. Chicken tandoori came sizzling hot and fragrant to our table, a half chicken with yogurt, garlic, ginger, tandoori paste and onions. Tikka masala with shrimp swimming in the creamiest tomato cream sauce with cashew past and fenugreek. Classic lamb curry with tomato, onions, ginger, garlic, curry masala and spices was the perfect to dish to dip that crispy garlicy naan into.To finish off the night we indulged with a little Kala Jamun, warm cake cutouts soaked in rose honey syrup with vanilla ice cream. Such a refreshing dessert to end a hearty meal with. Join Marigold Maison for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Find out more information on their website: www.marigoldmaison.com/
