So you love the spaghetti, lasagna, rotini, tortellini or any pasta in a bowl covered in flavorful sauce or maybe with a simple toss of good olive oil and seasoning. One thing’s for sure, we love the comfort of pasta and we want it fresh, am I right?! Everybody has their own idea of what a perfect pasta should be and mine has shifted over the years. I was once happy with a bowl of store-bought pasta topped with a store-bought sauce. But nowadays that shit won’t cut it. I want only fresh, could be from the store but no sauce from the store has been acceptable, that I’ve found. So if I need my pasta at home, I only use a bit of good olive oil and salt. At a restaurant, I’m not looking for a heavy sauce either, unless it’s mac and cheese, then bring it on!
So here are just a few of my favorite places around town to celebrate this national holiday:
Tratto – Bianco’s newest addition. Simple menu, big flavors, won’t be disappointed, at least I haven’t been yet.
Chef Christopher Collins made some ricotta gnocchi with short ribs that blew my mind and you can get it at Twisted Grove, I hope it blows your mind too!
I’m going to be honest and say that those are my favorite and I would be content ending the list right there but that’s my simple opinion and for list sake, I felt there should be a couple more options.
