It’s all about Tempura Day and here are a few fun facts about tempura you might not know:
– Tempura was originally a popular “street food” called “yatai.”
– Tempura is usually prepared with vegetables and seafood but has since expanded to desserts and other foods.
– Classic Tempura Batter includes only 3 ingredients, eggs, cake flour, and cold water (accompanying sometimes with ice).
– Great tempura lightly coats the foods and fries quickly – so the flavor does not compete with the freshness of the ingredients.
