Congrats to Paul Martin’s on their one year anniversary in Scottsdale and to rolling out some superb new spring menu items. While you could opt to go for lunch and try out the new turkey sandwich or hanger steak, which you could have for dinner too. We decided to go for dinner where you’ll find new items like the grilled lamb sirloin, linguine and clams pasta or the seared Ahi tuna.
After speaking with the always friendly and informative operating partner, Tim, we went with a few of his suggestions. We were struggling to decide between the new salt and pepper shrimp or the Castroville artichoke, so we ended up with both. I’m glad we did because they were equally pleasing. The artichoke was nice and meaty and paired well with the pesto aioli and those crispy Pacific prawns were amazing.
For entrees we decided to go with the new menu item that vegetarians will love or if you’re like me you’ll add chicken to the Spring Vegetable Pasta. It’s made with fresh lemon fettuccine tossed with white wine, Parmesan and garlic, then topped with a toasted walnut pesto, it satisfied my pasta craving without that heavy pasta feeling you get, you know what I’m talking about and I loved the fresh veggies and juicy chicken.
Blue got the fresh grilled salmon, a menu favorite, with a meyer lemon vinaigrette and chilled quinoa and bulgar wheat salad. This is a great healthy option, which is why Blue chose it, the salmon was fresh and flaky and although I can’t speak for him, he cleaned his plate!
Next up was dessert and we couldn’t decide on just one again. I wanted the banana cream pie and he wanted the new lemon creme brulee, it was causing great conflict between us. So, we ended up with both and wouldn’t you know it, his favorite was the banana cream pie and my favorite was the lemon creme brulee with lemon infused vanilla bean crème and shortbread cookies.
Thanks again to our great waitress for the wonderful service and to Tim for pointing us to some great food choices. Head down there for lunch, dinner or happy hour and help celebrate their one year anniversary. Here’s to another glorious year!!
