I am always on the lookout for a good filling healthy quick place to stop and grab dinner. I know, healthy and quick are not typically paired together. MAD Greens, opening locations in Scottsdale and Tempe, have managed to do just that.
MAD Greens is an assembly line type restaurant that has options to help you ‘Eat Better’. They source local ingredients straight from area farms, bakeries, and dairies. MAD Greens prepares everything in-house (for example, all MAD Greens’ dressings are made by hand each morning) and making things from scratch because they believe that’s the way food should be made.
Co-founders of the Denver based restaurant, Marley Hodgson and Dan Long grew up together in New York and went to college at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, CO. Once they got out there, they realized there wasn’t an abundance of healthy, filling options. After spending time in different career fields, the two came together and created MAD Greens.
They wanted to focus on local greens and healthy eats – and that is apparent throughout their menu. Once they decided to come to Arizona, they changed up their menu a bit to focus on seasonal ingredients and Arizona flavors (like the Tabasco® Prickly Pear Vinaigrette in the seasonal The F.L.W. salad).
Opening a store in Scottsdale and Tempe this month, the owners are not done yet. MAD Greens already has plans to expand further in AZ throughout the year.
The menu offers a variety of fresh salads, wraps and paninis.
