Up in north Scottsdale you’ll find a little diddy called Rhythm & Wine owned by Terry and Laura Craig. They’ve had a successful five years with this restaurant so far and we expect they’ll have many more. They aren’t newcomers to the restaurant scene as you probably know their other restaurant Jalapeno Inferno, which has two locations. In the kitchen of Rhythm and Wine you’ll find Chef Scott Paget, whipping up everything from Asian braised short ribs to Niman ranch grilled pork chops to flatbreads, bruschetta and salads.
I know how good the food sounds but you can also head over there for endless wine options and the great specials they have going on weekly. The other day, you and your friends could have watched the Bachelorette finale while sipping half priced wine. Yesterday they offered their flatbreads and select bottles of wine for only $20! And you can always follow their Facebook page to be in the loop for all the other specials going on.
Let’s get back to my experience with the food, I enjoyed lunch with them while chatting up general manager Adrienne. I started the meal with Sushi grade Ahi, poke style with wasabi cream, avocado, chive oil and potato waffle chips. I didn’t know it going in but I decided to go for an Asian style lunch and made sure that everything was dairy free. The Ahi was up to par and the presentation was on point. I only felt slightly bad for finishing off the entire plate myself but I did offer to share. For the entree I had All Thai’ed Up Asian Pasta with Sliced Steak paired with noodles, assorted chef veggies, slivered almonds in a ponzu sauce with light Asian spices. What a great flavor combination and both dishes are items I would come back just to eat.
In fact, you’ll find me up there when I’m done nursing and can have dairy again because their entire menu sounds delicious. And once the weather cools down, they have quite a large patio to enjoy and live music from October to May.
