Welcome to the Valley, Simon’s Hot Dogs! A family-run business, Simon’s Hot Dogs started about 5 years ago in Sedona by husband and wife team, Felipe and Marcela Roldan. After outgrowing their space in Sedona, the family decided to pack up and bring their Colombian street eats to the Old Town Scottsdale neighborhood.
The menu is a delicious assortment of hot dogs and toppings for meat-eaters and vegans alike! Felipe tells me that early on in their business some of his employees were vegan and unable to eat anything on the original menu. In order to appeal to a wider range of diners, they decided to come up with vegan versions to match their carnivorous counterparts. From the menu, you can choose between beef hot dogs, vegan dogs, and bratwurst. And the buns, which are vegan, are baked fresh daily. In addition to their hot dogs, you can order other popular Colombian street food items such as maicitos, vegan ceviche, and salchipapas. Take a look at some of their savory hot dog creations below:
Currently, you can make your way to Simon’s Hot Dogs for lunch and dinner. They are running a soft opening this week with their grand opening on December 12. As their staff gets used to the new kitchen and workflow, Felipe and Marcela hope to expand their hours on the weekend catering to the after hours crowd from the surrounding bars and nightclubs. They are also in the process of obtaining their liquor license so you will be able to enjoy your hot dogs with a cold one soon. And their patio will soon be dog friendly!
