Taking up the best spot on the corner of Brown and Drinkwater in Old Town Scottsdale is Social Tap. Literally a hop, skip and a jump from the salon of my magical unicorn that does my hair! They have quite a rockin patio, perfect for people watching and for enjoying our soon to be nice weather! If you’re looking for somewhere to watch your sports games and I know you are, this is the place to do it. For those of you that would rather listen to music videos, you know, the ones they use to play on MTV, they’ve got that too.
Inside we sat at one of their comfy booths and mulled over the menu. What you might expect from a Scottsdale sports bar menu, is not necessarily what you’ll find. Sure they have those options but for those of you looking to get something better with your football games, they’ve got you covered. Social Tap started the idea of this restaurant with a vision to focus on customer service, great food using high quality ingredients, creative cocktails and an emphasis on local craft beer. To start we went with the ahi poke, which is made with sushi grade ahi tuna seasoned with seasame oil and Asian spices and topped with avocado and served with fried wontons. This was one of my favorite dishes along with the next one.
You must, I repeat, you MUST try the house favorite Holy Sundae! It is made with layered chocolate chip cookies, Oreos and brownies, topped with cinnamon toast crunch fried ice cream and covered in caramel and chocolate drizzle. We shared this but I’m not sure you will want to. You could go watch the games, eat this dessert and have a beer and your day would be perfect, in my book anyway 🙂
