If you didn’t know, Pedal Haus Brewery opened September 2015 in the heart of downtown Tempe, Arizona and its extraordinary architecture was worked into the existing footprint of Cenetrpoint (where Tempe’s famous jackrabbit sculptures are located), next to the AMC Cinema, near W-6, The Hannover and just off the bustling, historic and vibrant Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe.
Conceptualized and owned by acclaimed restaurateur Julian Wright, Pedal Haus was built to be a haven for lovers of bikes, good times and great beer. To accomplish this, Wright gathered a team of all-star chefs to design a menu that combines their haus-brewed beers with locally sourced food. You’ll find the charcuterie board, Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese on the menu alongside steamed mussels and fries, an array of burgers, stout braised beef and mouth watering salads. Julian also recruited Derek Osborne, former director of brewery research and development for BJ’s Restaurant and Brewery. For more than a decade, Doc (as they like to call him) designed recipes that were used at all BJ’s locations and won more than two dozen medals at the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup, the largest commercial beer competitions in the nation. On draft you’ll find Nitro Maple Milk Stout, Dortmunder and Witbier, to name a few.
As I mentioned above, Pedal Haus features an enormous patio, the biggest in Tempe, which includes a massive fire pit and an outdoor beer garden packed with games like cornhole, ladderball and ping pong. Whether you want to grab dinner, sip on classic examples of traditional beer styles or simply hang out for a while, they invite you to make their haus your home. Check out their kitchen menu here or draft beer menu here, and keep them in mind for fabulous patio parties, impromptu gatherings with plenty of elbow room or just dinner and drinks with someone special.
As a side note, The Downtown Tempe Authority is offering the free trolley shuttle service to both Tempe Diablo Stadium for the Angels games and to Sloan Park for the Cubs games. This year they are expecting more fans than ever, so why not skip the traffic and the worries and take the trolley. They run every 20 minutes starting 2 hours before games to a half hour after games and the trolley stop at 5th and Mill (in front of Lotions & Potions) is super close to Pedal Haus Brewery, just sayin! You’ll have to bring your parking admittance ticket to the trolley for free parking validation and you can park for free in the City Hall Garage. So cheers to spring training, Pedal Haus Brewery and being the coolest friend ever when you win happy hour for you and 10 of your friends! And thanks to Pedal Haus Brewery for Sponsoring this post!
