Tempe’s famed art festival is back for the spring round this weekend. Tempe Festival of the Arts has entertainers, musicians, food vendors, beer and wine gardens and 300+ artists ready to fill the streets on Downtown Tempe. Popular Mill Avenue and surrounding streets will be bustling with artists, art lovers and fair-weather festival attendees looking to have a good time and enjoy sun this weekend.
WHAT: Tempe Festival of the Arts is an admission FREE festival in the heart of Tempe. Recognized on a national level, this arts festival brings annual traditions as well as new activations loyalist and newcomers alike will love. Whether you’re shopping for new art pieces, feeding your inner foodie, looking to sip local or have a family outing #TempeArtFest has it all.
Meet and shop art from artists who have traveled from around the country for this festival showing off their original works including; glass, paintings, sculpture, photography, hand-crafted jewelry and more making up a total of 17 categories. If you’re on the #supportlocal mission stop by 6th + Mill Makers. Curated by local artists, you can shop your favorite and up-and-coming artists and makers from around the Valley. Look forward to seeing the likes of Standard Wax, Iconic Cocktail, Lucky Air Plant and plenty more. If you’re making this a family affair be sure to take your next generation of artists over to Kids Block for hands on making and creating with their peers and they’ll leave with their own master piece to hang on the wall.

As you’re walking the streets through artists and to different festival activations don’t forget to make a stop at one of the Tempe Mission Meters. Downtown Tempe Authority is working with their stakeholders to make a positive impact on the homeless individuals that reside in Downtown Tempe. The financial goal is to raise $100,000 by June 2017 that will be directed to five social service agencies that aid those in need in Downtown Tempe.
