Every weekend you can find me at the Biltmore Fashion Park walking around enjoying a dirty Chai from Royal Coffee Bar and also peering into the window of The Crepe Club. My son is fascinated by the crepe making in that window. We watch as they pour batter on the large crepe pan, spread it around to encompass the entire thing and then carefully flip it over. After it’s finished cooking, they fill them with an assortment of delicious toppings but it would seem the favorite is the one covereNutellatella. You may know of Delice Bistro, the Crepe Club is run by the same family. After relocating to Arizona from Paris, their hearts and their bellies began to miss crepes from the local cart they frequented. With that in mind, they decided to bring those crepes to the states and started with a crepe cart outside of ASU. It was so successful and loved that they were able to open up shot by the campus and have now expanded to the Biltmore area and are always looking for new spaces to open shop. These guys are passionate about their roots and bringing quality crepes to Arizona and it’s not just about the crepes but I’ll get to that in a minute. All of their pastries and baked goods are prepared by hand at the Tempe location and they make fresh juice each morning.
We started with their Go Green juice, my favorite concoction with of Kale, Kiwi, Celery, Cucumber, Apple, Ginger, Parley Lemon. We also had Watermelon juice and Orange Juice, which was consumed by the children quickly.
For sweet crepes, the S’mores Nutella with marshmallows and graham crackers won our vote but the baby downed the strawberry “shortCrepe” which was full of fresh strawberries, whipped cream and cookie crumbles.
You must try the quiche, it’ll give you a new outlook on life and make you dream of it every weekend. The lorraine was light as clouds and heavenly on the tastebuds, it had mozzarella, gruyere and turkey bacon but you can also opted for the smoked salmon quiche.
The croissants are pretty spectacular too, you can have them plain or with almonds or chocolate or if it’s lunch time, get one with turkey and swiss, a bit of basil mayo, some avocado, lettuce and tomato. Or try their crosissants as french toast with strawberries and syrup ladled over top.
