As a local West Valley girl, I am super excited to introduce The Vic Bar & Kitchen located here at Verrado in Buckeye. This restaurant has a farm-to-table menu created by Executive Chef Robert Douglas. Chef Douglas is all about using fresh local produce for his menu and you can tell by the way it tastes! After getting an exclusive tour of their gorgeous facility, we got seated in their modern designed kitchen. The Vic Bar & Kitchen has panoramic views that are breath taking! What better way to eat a delicious meal than with a stunning view?
We tried two items from their Nosh menu. Their Local Asparagus Tips and Freeze Dried Fruit. The asparagus was chilled and full of flavor. The dressing adding the perfect amount of tang to the salad. I love my share of fruits, but have never tasted freeze dried fruit at a restaurant. I enjoyed how they paired the sweet dried fruit with the salty thin sliced prosciutto.
The food just kept coming. Next we tasted two items from their Nibble menu. He served the Spicy Marinated Cremini’s and the Deviled Blue Sky Duck Egg. I am always game for spicy food, and these cremini’s didn’t disappoint. They had enormous flavor and I probably could have eaten a second bowl of them!
We tried two items from their Graze menu. First was their Melon Salad. Galia melon dressed in mint, radish flowers, goat cheese, preserved lemons, crispy guanciale and drizzled with a simple vinaigrette. It was like cleansing my palette for the next plate. We then had their Founders Spinach Salad. This was packed with flavor from the candied bacon to the pickled onions and topped with their tomato vinaigrette. These two items would be perfect for a lunch date with a friend!
Not shown are the three flatbread pizzas we got to taste. (We seriously devoured them before I could get some pictures!) All three were awesome! I highly recommend all of them, but my favorite was the House Cured Chipotle Flatbread. Again the heat from the jalapenos were perfectly paired with the sweetness from the chipotle honey drizzle on-top!
But if you are wanting a bigger meal, order something from their Chow Down menu. I got to taste their Pimento Cheese Crusted Tenderloin (picture above). So much flavor on one plate! The meat was tender and juicy and the crusty cheese was divine! We also got to try their Amish Veal Skirt Steak. Talk about “melt in your mouth” goodness. The veal was tender and plated with lemon hummus and living watercress. Both plates showed me that Chef Douglas doesn’t just serve food, he loves food and cooking for those around him! Be sure to head over and try their wide variety of wines and drinks with their lovely desserts!
