No I have not given up on life, thank you Chef for asking! I did a whole week, er, maybe a little more than a week of only wearing my workout pants and my fun food slogan shirts and I didn’t actually work out, whoops!! It was glorious people and I understand the value of not having to think about what to wear and trying to look perfect all day long. It’s exhausting, it’s a waste of f-ing time, well, most of the time. I confess that I do enjoy getting all dressed up at times but sometimes I just want to get shit done and I don’t want to have to worry about what I’m wearing. I have so little time to be productive, it was nice when I decided that week to focus all my energy on my family and on my tasks. Another waste of time, trying to figure out what to eat and where to go. Forget that! That’s why I opted for Uber Eats and yoga pants every.single.day. Yes I went to Nico for dinner in my yoga pants but I will admit that I put on a pair of jeans for the Local First dessert social, which paired perfectly with my Professional Eater shirt.
Don’t look at me like I’m crazy. I know you sit there too and go, ugh, I’m so hungry, what should I eat. This internal struggle kills me all week long because it’s not just about feeding me, it’s about feeding my husband and the two kids. I have a 15 month old and a 5 year old with a dairy allergy. I swear to God I am constantly buying food and we still have no food in the house! All my kids do is follow me around saying how hungry they are, how can they eat so much! HOW??! So I made things easy and I ordered Uber Eats, it honestly took away a lot of stress. I’ll get in to what I ordered below and what I thought of everything but for the most part, I’m down with the food delivery. It truly is convenient. When the baby is sleeping and the husband is gone and I’m hungry, boom, I’ve got Thai food coming my way. When I just don’t have the time to drive around to get food, bam, Clever Koi to my door people.
Duck & Decanter for lunch, I couldn’t resist ordering the Duckling. This is not a place I would order to go from again. I’ve been in their restaurant before, the quality of food was different, at least for me. The sandwich was thrown together, the bread was all broken and there was barely anything in the middle.
Scramble, A Breakfast Joint – Breakfast made easy for us with a huge meat lovers scramble, although my toast was stale, the hashbrowns and scramble were fully satisfying.
Thai Long-An – This has become a house favorite for us now. I have ordered quite a few times from here. My favorite dish is the Mas-sa-mun curry for dinner or the lunch special rocks too!
The Clever Koi – I resist ordering from here every time because I feel like I should try something new. I’m a creature of habit so I can’t seem to stray from the noodles with steak, bok choy, broccoli, and ginger. This last time my 15 month old legit almost ate my entire lunch. He ate all the broccoli, almost all the meat and then started in on the noodles. I had to fight him to let me eat some lunch.
Be Coffee + Food + Stuff – Breakfast made easy and the coffee came just as if I went in there and ordered it myself!
Jewel of the Crown Cuisine of India – Tandoori chicken lunch for the win. This place is about 25 minutes from our house, so I’d say this was well worth it, as far as saving times goes.
What did I learn from my week of yoga pants and Uber Eats? I learned that I love convenience now and I really enjoyed not having to think twice about what I was going to wear for the entire week. If you haven’t tried out Uber Eats yet, you can get $10 off your first meal by using my code eats-dianar130 and enjoy that extra time doing something much more productive, like dishes or catching up on Empire.
