Wildflower Bread Company has been a locally owned favorite for almost 20 years. They say the three keys for success are the food, great service and clean restaurants. When you walk in, you immediately notice the vibrant, yet inviting atmosphere and cleanliness. The menu is diverse, which means that you’ll be sure to find a favorite for everyone in the family. Recently they added some new seasonal items, many of which will keep you on track for a healthier lifestyle, without sacrificing flavor.
As a new breakfast option, the Three Cheese Mushroom & Tomato Frittata is made with whipped eggs, melted swiss cheese, soft feta, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach, all topped with slow-roasted tomatoes, green onion and creamy goat cheese, served alongside Wildflower Home fries and crisp buttered toast. With the way these flavors meld together, I don’t know of anyone that wouldn’t enjoy this as their day starter!
You can top those babies with a nice warm mixed berry compote and tart lemon curd.
Layer them with some chopped bananas & toasted hazelnuts drizzled with caramel and served with some piping hot maple syrup.
Or try it with a dollop of cream cheese and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg, don’t forget to drizzle that maple syrup on top.
One of my favorite new items is the Crispy Un-Fried Chicken Sandwich. They prepare the sandwich with a juicy chicken Breast, rich gorgonzola, Wildflower crisps, and a spicy ranch slaw all on a pillowy, grilled ciabatta roll and served with original and sweet potato chips. This sandwich is so enjoyable, I went back the next day and had it again.
It seems that cauliflower is the new trendy vegetable for this year and Wildflower Bread Company takes to the trend with there cauliflower steak. Perfectly seared and served on top of tri-color quinoa with cranberries, toasted walnuts, red onions and organic baby kale with cranberry and caper purée. The texture is meaty and the caper purée is full of flavors. It was so mouthwatering even my kids love it. Oh, and this is vegan!
Bust into that #newyearnewme with the superfood salad a generous portion of organic baby kale, tri- color quinoa, slow roasted tomatoes, roasted cauliflower, petite peas, cilantro, dried sweet corn, goat cheese, toasted walnuts and mixed with a Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette. Want to add some protein to the mix? You can add chicken or chopped salmon.
Another use of cauliflower on the menu is the caramelized cauliflower linguine. The cauliflower is caramelized and then tossed with hazelnut pesto, white wine, sundried tomatoes, wilted arugula and toasted hazelnuts, feel free to add chicken to it as well.
Let’s not forget dessert and with January 23rd being National Pie Day, we suggest taking a bite of their delectable Banana Caramel Custard Pie. With layers of fresh bananas, sweet caramel and creamy vanilla custard, it’ll be hard to resist. With all the healthy entrée options, you won’t feel any guilt with this heavenly pie.
The new menu has something for everyone. You will find similar dishes on menus at fine dining restaurants with the same quality of food at over twice the price, however, all of the above items are less than $10.00. At that price point, you won’t break the bank or your diet!
